TrashTides are simple games that allow players to explore a world where they can clean up their surroundings through various activities like fishing or scavenging for trash. Players usually start by collecting different types of garbage and sorting them into categories such as plastics (plastic bags, plastic bottles), metals (metal cans) etc. They then use these materials in the game environment based on what is needed to restore a specific area around their base called "TrashTide Base".

The gameplay involves using various tools like fishing rods or nets that can catch different types of trash and place them into designated areas for recycling, composting (if applicable), etc. The objective being collecting as much waste from the ocean in order not only to restore it but also by avoiding fish.
